We have been hotelkeepers for generations.
We have restored some of the most beautiful historic houses in Matera to make them available to our guests.
A way to live Matera like a local.
Originally this was the house of the founder, Lucio in fact. He was the first to have the intuition to transform some of the ancient caves of Matera, now abandoned and in disuse, into a beautiful Albergo Diffuso.
The unique and original architecture unmistakably characterizes these places that seem to be wrapped in a charm of the past. The environment is familiar and the atmosphere evokes the life that was once spent in the Sassi. The interiors are embellished with plays of light that give volume to the ancient niches and stone arches.
Among these rocks, whose history is intertwined with that of the world, the comforts are the result of modernity while the furnishings of the splendid rooms and common rooms alternate original period details with design pieces.
Located in a strategic position, La Casa Di Lucio is close to many of the most popular and iconic destinations in all of Southern Italy.
From the beautiful beaches of the Ionian Sea to those of the Adriatic side of nearby Puglia, from the archaeological sites of Metaponto and Policoro to the trulli of the Itria Valley. You can appreciate and discover the nearby attractions such as the picturesque village of Bernalda, the Bosco Pantano, the Castles of Melfi and Venosa, the Pollino National Park or reach the mythical beaches of Polignano and Monopoli in no time.
Inland, however, we find the beautiful villages of Altamura and Gravina di Puglia, the immense Alta Murgia National Park and many other wonders just waiting to be discovered.
